Cape Cod National Seashore
The Cape Cod National Seashore is a wild area that has been protected as a national park since 1961. Stretching for about 40 miles, visitors to the seashore can find some of Cape Cod’s best beaches, explore miles of hiking trails, and enjoy the park’s beautiful woodlands.
Sandwich
Located on the west end of the Cape, Sandwich made a name for itself in the 19th century as a major center for glass-making. To celebrate its history, the town maintains both the Sandwich Glass Museum and Heritage Museums & Gardens. Visitors can also get a dose of history at the town’s Nye Family Homestead, Hoxie House, and Dexter Grist Mill.
Cape Cod Rail Trail
Widely considered one of the best bike trails in all New England, the Cape Cod Rail Trail winds through 22 miles of the ecosystems in the lower Cape. This paved trail is popular among horseback riders, bikers, and rollerbladers.
